Have you been affected by the massive Zogg Fire? Preliminary reports indicate that the fire may have been caused by Pacific Gas & Electric (“PG&E”) equipment. In fact, according to a statement from PG&E, Cal Fire has seized PG&E equipment as part of an investigation into the cause of the deadly wildfire which has burned thousands of acres, destroyed hundreds of structures, and killed four people in Shasta County.
If the current Cal Fire investigation eventually determines that PG&E’s equipment caused the Zogg Fire, and you or your family suffered losses as a result of the fire, under California law you may be able to recover damages against the utility company

PG&E equipment seized as part of investigation into the cause of deadly Zogg Fire.
Cal Fire has taken possession of Pacific Gas and Electric Company equipment as part of an investigation into the cause of a deadly wildfire burning in Shasta County.
PG&E filed an Electric Incident Report (EIR) with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) when PG&E learned that CAL FIRE had taken possession of PG&E equipment as part of CAL FIRE’s investigation into the cause of the Zogg Fire in Shasta County. – Redding.com
The Zogg Fire started just before 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Zogg Mine Road and Jenny Bird Lane. Since then, it has burned 56,338 acres, destroyed 204 buildings, and at least four people have been killed in the blaze.
PG&E, the nation’s largest utility, recently emerged from bankruptcy caused by financial fallout from several devastating wildfires caused by its utility equipment that destroyed more than 27,000 homes and other buildings in 2017 and 2018 and killed more than 100 people.
The utility “PG&E” had cut power in the general area of the Zogg fire, but it hadn’t de-energized lines where the blaze is thought to have started. PG&E said its records indicated that its equipment recorded alarms and other activity related to a power line in an area where the Zogg fire began and near the time of its ignition. – Redding.com
